God of All Creation

The fact that God created and still creates inspires me! It’s the very reason why we believe that “with God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26). Think about… if necessary, God can create whatever is needed at any given moment, in your life! He was and IS Creator God. And what’s more, Creator God absolutely loves you with amazing passion and desires to bless you and provide opportunities for your success (See Jeremiah 29:11 again). I don’t know about you, but his blows my mind!

Theologian J. Rodman Williams said it this way:

Creation is a vast mystery incomprehensible to the mind of man

Unbelievably, there are those, like scientist Tim Hawking, that still asserts that “The Big Bang was the result of the inevitable laws of physics and did not need God to spark the creation of the Universe.” 1

Through the centuries, skeptics and scholars alike have often questioned, “How could something be created out of nothing?” Even at our very best, it still remains a mystery and indeed, incomprehensible! That is where faith comes in. It takes faith to believe. It takes faith to believe in a God that we cannot see, touch, or feel (physically). It takes faith to believe that this same invisible God can create merely by speaking!

HEBREWS 11:1-3 (NLT) says:

Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see. 2Through their faith, the people in days of old earned a good reputation. 3By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God’s command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen

It takes faith to believe that God is Creator… past, present, and future! Faith is the very essence of making sense out of any of this stuff we call life. So, once we’ve come to terms with this Truth, the next question is, “What does this mean for my life?”

APPLY IT: Read Genesis 1, Hebrews 11 and Hebrews 13:8. Then reflect on the implications these truths have on your personal life.

  1. What is the Holy Spirit saying to you through these verses?
  2. What creative miracle will you believe God for in the coming days?
  3. How will you pray differently this week knowing that God is your creative Source?
